If you organize on behalf of a place — a club, academy, venue, or league — you can create an Organization on Matchely instead of publishing everything under your personal name.

What an organization gives you

A page of your own

A public address with your competitions, your location, and your contact details.

Competitions in its name

Competitions show as published by the organization, not by a person.

A team

Members have roles: Owner, Admin and Member.

Continuity

If whoever administers it changes, the organization and its history stand.

How to create one

Under Menu → My Organizations → Create Organization, a four-step wizard:
1

Type

Club, Academy, Venue, League, Association, Company or Hotel.
2

Details

The name — shown on the public page and on the organization’s competitions — and a short description.
3

Sports

The sports the organization offers.
4

Contact

Optional: phone, email, website and social media.
Logo, cover and location come later, under Settings → General. Once the organization exists, the review step of the competition wizard lets you publish under it.

The organization page

It shows the cover and logo, the type and city, the numbers (members, followers, competitions and, when there are any, courts), About with the sports, the Courts with their opening hours, the ranking, the Members and Contact — the phone number opens WhatsApp.

Members

Every member has a function — what the person is in the organization: Athlete, Club member, Coach or Staff — and a role — who administers it: Owner, Admin or Member. The function is what grants the member price on the courts: only people whose function is Club member. Nobody joins without saying yes:
  • An Admin (or the owner) invites them by searching for a name or @username, picking the role and the function — the person gets a notification and has to accept on the organization’s own page.
  • Any player can ask to join from the organization’s page — an admin approves (and may change the function they suggested) or declines.
The admin also promotes, demotes and removes anyone — other admins included. The owner can never be removed or have their role changed. Whoever is affected gets a notification. Each member keeps their own player profile — organization and player are separate things, and the tie shows on the profile (“Coach at Spin Tennis”).

Leaving

Members and admins leave with the Leave button on the organization page. Nobody is notified. The owner cannot leave directly: first they use Transfer ownership, under Settings → General, and pick a member to take over. The new owner is notified and the previous one stays on as an admin — and can then leave.
Paid booking pays out to the owner’s Mercado Pago account. That is why the transfer is refused while paid booking is on or there are upcoming paid bookings: turn booking off, wait for the upcoming bookings to pass, transfer, and the new owner connects their Mercado Pago before turning it back on.

Follow

Without being a member, you can follow an organization from its page: you get told when it publishes a new competition or opens registrations, and the home screen gets a band of its own, From organizations you follow, with the open competitions of the organizations you follow.
The notice is capped at one per organization per day, and it skips any competition you are already registered for. You can also turn these notifications off.
