These are the formats for playing a single event — an afternoon, an evening — in a doubles sport. In all of them the competition draws the matches by itself from the players’ order. Except in Super 4, the Matches tab shows which turn and which court each match is on (Turn 2 · Court 1).

What applies to all of them

Default score format: one 4-game set, and 4–3 ends the set. In pickleball, one game to 11 points. In sports without a short score format, the sport’s own applies. The organizer changes this under Score format by phase when creating the competition. The standings, in the Standings tab, are ordered by wins → game difference → games won → head-to-head. Americano is the exception: there each game is a point, and the order is games won → wins → game difference → head-to-head. If the organizer picked a regulation, theirs applies. There is no promotion or relegation between groups: it is an event, not a season. The players’ order used to draw the matches is the preliminary table the organizer checks before opening the round — they can reorder it.

Super 4

4 players, 3 matches: each player partners each of the other three once. The champion is an individual.

Super 8

8 players, 14 matches in 7 turns on 2 courts. Each player plays 7 times: partners each of the other seven once and faces each of them twice. The champion is an individual, the top of the standings.

Fixed-pairs Super 8

With Fixed teams — the team is ranked turned on at creation, Super 8 becomes a tournament of 8 pairs (16 entries). Pairs register together or are formed by the organizer, and the round only opens with 8 complete pairs. The organizer picks the Fixed pairs mode:

Super 8 in groups

8 players over two rounds, 6 matches each:
1

Round 1 — groups crossed by level

Two groups of 4, built so both have similar strength: 1st, 4th, 5th and 8th in one; 2nd, 3rd, 6th and 7th in the other. Each group plays 3 matches, each on its own court.
2

Round 2 — Final and Consolation

The top 2 of each group go to the Final; the other four, to the Consolation. Again 3 matches per group, and in the Standings tab the two groups are now called Final and Consolation.
The champion is an individual: the top of the Final.

Super 12

12 players. The group stage is individual and the final stage is in pairs:
1

Group stage

3 groups of 4 by level — 1st to 4th, 5th to 8th, 9th to 12th — each with 3 matches on its own court: 9 matches in total.
2

The final-stage pairs

When the organizer publishes the knockout stage, the 12 are sorted into an overall table and the top 8 form pairs: 1st + 8th, 2nd + 7th, 3rd + 6th and 4th + 5th. Whoever finished 9th to 12th is done at that point.
3

Semifinals and final

(1st + 8th) against (4th + 5th) and (2nd + 7th) against (3rd + 6th). The winners play the final, and there can be a third-place match.
The champion is the pair that wins the final.

Americano

The rotation for any number from 4 to 16 players. Every turn each player has a different partner; whoever does not fit on that turn’s courts sits out, and byes are spread so everyone sits the same amount (at most one turn apart). The champion is an individual. At creation, the organizer sets:
  • Courts — 1 to 4. Only the courts the players can fill are used: with 6 players and 4 courts, play happens on one.
  • Turns — 1 to 30. The suggestion is one turn fewer than the number of players when nobody sits out, and the same number when someone does. Partners may repeat; with 8 players, 2 courts and 7 turns you get exactly the Super 8 rotation.
  • ModeFixed, with every turn created at once when the round opens, or Mexicano (below).
A game is a point. That is why the standings start with games won, and a walkover is worth a whole set to zero — with the default score format, 4–0 for the winner.

Mexicano mode

In Mexicano only the first turn is created when the round opens. The next ones come from the live standings: whoever has played fewest matches plays, and on each court the next four in the standings form 1st + 4th against 2nd + 3rd — matches get more even as the event goes on. The organizer generates each turn with Generate next turn on the round card. The button only shows up once every match of the current turn is finished; after the last agreed turn, the app says every turn has already been generated.
