In the Messages list, a doubles match conversation is named after the players —
Arthur/Bernardo × Caio/Davi — so you can tell one from another when you have
several from the same competition.You never have to set up a group: the match conversation comes ready.When the match starts from an invite, the conversation starts before the
match does. It is created along with the invite, with only you in it, and
everyone who joins the match joins the conversation too — whoever leaves the
match leaves it as well. Once the last spot is filled and the match actually
exists, that same conversation becomes the match’s, with all the history
from before.
In a directed invite, the invited player only joins the conversation once they
accept — before that they do not get the match’s messages.
An invite that is cancelled, declined, or expired closes the conversation, but
it stays readable for everyone who was in it.
The badge on the Messages icon counts conversations with new messages. It
clears when you open the conversation — on any device, since read state follows
your account.
A new message triggers a notification on your phone. And if you go more than
half an hour without opening it, the alert also arrives by email.A noisy conversation can be quietened without leaving it: in the conversation’s
action menu, Mute notifications silences its alerts, and the Messages list
marks it as Muted. Unmute notifications undoes it.
Beyond that there are no notification preferences inside the app: what else
reaches you is controlled by your device, in its notification settings for
Matchely.
When someone adds photos to a match, that match’s conversation gets a notice —
“So-and-so added photos to the match”, with how many items the gallery has —
and tapping it takes you straight to the match. It is automatic: nobody needs
to send the photos in the chat. Uploading is covered in
