# Join a competition

> How to enter, what happens to your request, and how paid entry works.

## First of all: a complete profile

<Warning>
  Entries are only accepted with a **complete profile** — including gender,
  date of birth, and phone — and with your level rated in **every** sport you
  added. The competition's sport also has to be on your profile. It is the
  number-one reason for "the Join button does nothing".

## How to enter

    Through search, through the "Near you" showcase, or through the link the
    organizer sent.

    Pick the division, if there is more than one.

  <Step title="Most of the time, you are already in">
    Your entry goes straight to **Awaiting start**. If the division is full,
    you sit **Next in line**.

<Note>
  You only land on **Requested**, waiting for the organizer to accept, when
  they turn off automatic approval or when entry is paid by Pix arranged
  outside the app.

## Your entry's states

**Awaiting start** · **Next in line** · **Requested** · **Active** ·
**Suspended** · **Declined**.

<Warning>
  A request still **Requested** when the round starts **does not make it into**
  that round. If the organizer approves by hand, do not leave it to the last
  minute.

## Paid entry

The **organizer** receives the money, not Matchely — they are the seller and
the one responsible for the competition.

* **In Brazil**, payment happens inside the app: Pix or card. Your spot is
  confirmed as soon as the payment is recognized.
* There may be **price tiers** (the price rises as the date approaches) and
  **discounts**.
* **Pix arranged outside the app**: you pay the organizer directly and they
  approve your entry. There is no "I paid" button and no receipt upload — keep
  yours.

## Organizer invitations

They can also invite you. An invitation banner appears and you decide — nobody
joins a competition without agreeing to it.

## Leaving, or skipping a round

* **Skip next round** — you stay in the competition but sit the next one out.
  Useful for travel or injury.
* **Leave the competition** — asks for a reason, closes your pending matches
  and chats, and **cannot be undone**. Matches already played stay in your
  history.
