# Your data and your account

> Download everything Matchely holds about you, and delete your account.

Both are self-service, under **Menu → My account**, with no support ticket in
between.

## Download your data

Request it under **Request a copy of my data**. You receive an email with a
link to a **Markdown** file containing what Matchely holds about you: profile,
matches, competitions, and history.

<Note>
  The link is valid for **24 hours** and single-use — that is what stops it
  from leaking along with your inbox. If it expires, just request another.
</Note>

## Delete your account

Also under My account. Deletion is confirmed through a **link sent to your
email**, valid for 24 hours, and is **immediate and permanent** — there is no
grace period.

### What is erased

Your access, your photo, your contact details, your connections, and your
presence in search.

### What stays, and why

The **results of the matches and competitions you played** continue to exist,
and **your name stays on them**.

<Warning>
  This is not anonymization: the people who played with you keep seeing your
  name on that result. Those records also belong to your opponents and to the
  competitions where they happened — erasing them would change the standings
  and history of other people, who asked for nothing.
</Warning>

<Warning>
  **Cancel any subscription first.** Deleting your account does not cancel a
  subscription bought through the App Store, Google Play, or the browser — the
  charges continue.
</Warning>

## Public profile

What shows of you outside the app is controlled by a single toggle. See
